Our story

CardReview started with an embarrassing moment.

A close relative got a call from their bank about potential fraud, and discovered they've been paying fraudulent charges on her credit card for months. The charges were small enough to slip by and by the time anyone noticed, the losses added up to thousands. She hadn't done anything wrong. She just trusted that if something were wrong, her credit card company would catch it.

But her credit card company wasn't catching it. That's the problem we set out to fix.

We're two brothers, Daniel and Michael Robbins. After that happened, we started reviewing our own statements line by line. But it's not easy. charges hide behind cryptic merchant names. Subscriptions creep up a few dollars at a time. Even paying close attention, we missed things.

So we built the tool we wish we had. Something that reads every statement line by line, analyzes it against a deep database of merchants and charges, and flags anything that looks wrong.
